Forough Alaei

I’m a photojournalist

I was born in 1989, Iran. I chose law as my major, with my mind preoccupied with painting and arts. As an undergraduate, I started to notice the enormous inequality against women.
I found photography highly capable of helping me represent my thoughts and deep concerns.
I started photography back in 2015 when I become a photojournalist in Donya-e-Eghtesad daily newspaper, the leading economic daily in Iran.
In a short time, I documentary photography and filmmaking.
Based on my background as well as research interests, I mostly go for issues related to humanity and social matters with a focus on gender inequalities.
I recently worked on Iranian female football fans who are banned to enter the stadiums.
